08/2025 - Allegra attends the 4th International Workshop in Non-targeted Metabolomics at DTU in Copenhagen, Denmark. Next year, the workshop will be held in Denver at DU!

 

08/2025 - Marquis presents a poster at the Cellular Biology of Metals GRS and GRC! Seems like he's learned a ton!

08/2025 - We wrap up the third year of the SHINE@DU program which focuses on giving Denver High School students opportunities to do paid internships in the laboratory. This program partner's with Dr. Brady Worrell to host 3-7 high schoolers per summer. Way to go Class of 2025!!

07/2025 - Our lab receives an NSF CAREER award through the Chemistry of Life Processes at the NSF. This award focuses on "Elucidating the Chemistry of Biological Lanthanide Chelators for Rare Earth Element Separation." We can't wait to get started diving into this research and are so thankful that the NSF decided to fund us!

06/2025 - Marquis attends the NW NARCH Applied Biostatistics and Data Science for American Indians and Alaskan Natives Intensive Courses 2025 Data Science Workshop, and Olivia attends the Cold Spring Harbor Workshop on Metabolomics! Lots of new knowledge for all - can't wait to see what they've learned!

06/2025 - Anastasiia is hooded, attending the NSM graduation ceremony and making her degree official!

06/2025 - Allegra gives an invited seminar at the Carnegie Science in Baltimore, MD. What a memorable experience!

04/2025 - Olivia receives honorable mention for the NSF-GRFP fellowship. Way to go!

01/2025 - Anastasiia successfully defends her Ph.D. Way to go Dr. Kostenko! We wish you all the best at KBI BioPharma!

11/2024 - Two new postdocs, Drs. Logan Ott and Jon Michael join the lab! Logan joins us from Iowa State U. and Jon joins from U. of Oklahoma. We're so excited for you both to join the lab!

08/2024 - Marquis's book chapter on native metabolomics metal-infusion workflows is published in Methods in Enzymology as a part of the "Siderophore and Related Natural Products Biosynthesis" edition. This chapter can be found here.

07/2024 - Anastasiia's paper is published in Metallomics! This was a collaborative effort between our laboratory and the Dorrestein and Raffatellu labs at UCSD. Thanks to all involved! Paper can be found here.
